I had 4 new tires put on my car, the next day my
dashboard lights for ABS, traction control and tire
pressure came on. Is this a coincidence or could
they have done something while changing tires.
Did this happen right after the tire change? Does this shop do repair work? Because it is possible someone unplugged the wheel speed sensor. You would have to jack up the front end and take the wheels off to check the plugin for the wheel speed sensor. I would.
The tires pressure may not be a coincidence. The ABS and traction lights may be due to a damaged wheel speed sensor or wire. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
See if you have less then 32psi in your tires if so fill to the psi rating on the tires, This will get the tire pressure light off, If your tires are rated for different psi then fill to that psi but most tires for passenger cars is 35psi and tire shops all over are only filling to 32psi and the tire psi sensor on most new cars is set to turn warning light on at 31 psi. This will not affect the ABS/traction/ but like said above it likely got disconnected or abused.
