Srx key fob not working

Asked by GuruVRKM6 Sep 08, 2018 at 09:52 PM about the 2013 Cadillac SRX Premium FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I placed a new battery in my key fob 2013 Cadillac
SRX because it was appearing to be losing power.
Now I Cannot get car to start or get the fob to lock
or unlock the car. Got our second key fob out of the
drawer where it has been sitting for years and the
same thing.  Put a fresh battery and still cannot get
a response.  I placed the fob in the slot in the center
console and got it to start after about 10 tries but
could not repeat the success after a few minutes.
Can it be a fuse? Any suggestions?

Fob needs to be synced to the vehicle: When you are close or in vehicle hold lock and unlock down at the same time for at least 5 seconds, the locks should cycle and the fob should function.

Had a similar situation with my fob not being recognized. However, lights, radio and AC all came on when I pushed Start button, but car would not start. I tried all the standard programming tricks and nothing worked, finally I disconnected the positive terminal of the battery and reconnected it and that worked!

You are awesome! Tried for 2 hours to get this remote working right. Ran across this after dealership wanting to tow in, locksmith said couldn’t do it, mechanic came and tried and nothing worked! UNTIL YOUR POST! Thanks a bunch! Really kept my weekend from being ruined!

Reprogrammed my remotes several times and nothing worked until I disconnected and reconnected the vehicle battery. After that, everything worked fine.

I changed the battery and held down the lock and unlock buttons several time then put the remote in the location in the glove box and it started the car but will not do anything else. It;s a 2012 SRX.....any ideas?

I have been dealing with this issue for months now. The dealer replaced (or said they did) the batteries in both fobs as they were both not being detected. Took it for second opinion and we have a new battery in the car now and the shade tree mechanic said that should fix it. It did not. I still have to hold down lock buttons, place in console, burn sage and speak in tongues for it to work. The FOB will sometimes unlock the car or not. The rear door/gate did not recognize having the FOB in my hand. Button on door and button on FOB did not work. I had to use the button in front side door to open the hatch. This is a 2012 SRX.

I’m having a problem with my key fob syncing to my 2014 Cadillac SRX. I brought it to the Cadillac dealer and they told me I needed to buy new key fobs which I did and they programmed them. Still did not make a difference. They will not stay synced to my car next they told me I had to run it through diagnostics and that came back as a bad module, which they replaced when I went to pick my car up. The remote still did not stay synced with my car. Now they told me I had to replace the brain which I had them do and once again, I went to pick up my car and I got the no remote found alert. I’m not really sure where to go from here. I left my car with the dealer for now for them to figure it out

I recently acquired a 2010 Cadillac SRX SUV .... i replaced the batteries in both remote key fobs. They work, the horn honks, the lights flash, the alarm is set on/off .... but the doors won't lock and unlock ever since i got it back from an inspection at a dealership. He was messing with wires under the car when it was hoisted. The locks worked when I brought it in, were not working when I brought it home. I tried the factory rest, I tried to reprogram, i tried holding the L/UL buttons on the fob down. The lock/unlock buttons on the console don't work either but they never did. And neither does the remote start. Ant ideas on how to fix it?
