Heres the short and skinny on my situation. Recently had my oil changed and tranny flushed and refilled.. Now my car is jerking when i accelerate and is slow to catch higher speeds. What do I do?

Asked by Jordan Dec 10, 2015 at 04:26 PM about the 2012 Kia Rio5 SX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I also had the mechanics pull it through their car
wash which is mostly done by hand as it was
free with an oil change and they always do a nice
job cleaning my car.  My brother said to start
with the spark plugs, im worried its an even
worse fix as Ive had this car for 3 years and have
only had to do minor maintenance on it.  The car
isnt that old and has low mileage for its age.
(Aprox. 75,000) Its a 2006 KIA RIO5 SX, figured
id state that here since the site would only let me
go down to 2012 for the year.  Any other
questions about please feel free to ask.  I need
to get this taken care of asap as I drive my car
for a living and cant afford to look for another
used often overly priced car, much less be able
to take time off to make an appointment for a
mechanic or a dealership.  Thanks!

My check engine light has been on for a while and every time i take it in i always get the same response "did u fill your gas tank recently?" "It could just be your sensor." And then they reset the sensor so the light goes off only for it to come back on days later. Recently after the oil change and flush and fill tranny its started to become slow in response to rpm and lurches forward while driving causing my check engine light to flash until the lurching stops (usually at higher speeds). Before i took it to the oil, lube, and car wash place it didnt have this problem at all. What gives?

Trany flush? Not good. Is it the trany that is causing the jerking? So how does the motor run? at idle in park...

At idle its fine. It doesnt sputter or lurch or anything like that. Its when i press down on the gas that it starts to act up. Im told that if moisture gets into the spark plug areas it could do this?

Moister maybe so, you put a bottle of the Red Heat into the gas and run it. I am just hoping the trany flush didn't screw you. It is 99% of the time not recommended to do this as it blows any loose particles threw the trany and gets caught up in vital working parts. Like Tom said, check your fluid while warmed up, and run something with isyoprofel in it threw the gas, not methanol. You can only hope. May have to take it back and have them fix it.
