Does a dealership have to inform you that your purchasing a trade assist vehicle? If yes and they didn't disclose it what recourse do I have? Will this also impact trade in value?

Question type: General

I had a dealership in Ma sell me a 2013
BMW X3 they told me it was the demo car
so it had some miles on it (12k). Initially
there were problems with the title (they lost
it) had to order duplicate and I thought
everything was ok. Fast forward to 37k
miles and turbos need to be replaced. I
have since moved to CT and having it
serviced at another dealership and they
informed me that it was a trade assist
vehicle. Warranty  will be up within a year. I
feel I may  have a lemon  and have gotten
quotes slightly over $3k for extended
warranty.

Your car should still be covered under the original factory warranty of 4 years, 50,000 miles. And the dealer you purchased it from should have included a Certified Pre Owned Warranty for an additional 2 years, up to 100,000 miles. My advice would be to keep up on the maintaince at a dealer (free for the first 50K) and trade it in before 100K. Any major expenses should be covered under warranty. If BMW had canceled any warranty then it would have to have been disclosed when you bought the car. And, depending on the State you live in, you would have legal recourse to recover damages. Check with your State's Bureau of Automotive repairs, or if there isn't one, Motor Vehicle Department. But any of this will be a LOOOONG process. Good Luck!
