2013 chevy sonic wont start after low fuel

the low fuel light was on when I got home. when I went to leave to the gas station the car wont start now. I tried to put gas in the tank and still nothing.

...well you run it low (fuel lite on) for more than a little while, the fuel pump burns out because the coooing fuel will not be there to cool your pump...replace.

you could check for continuity at the pump, but you will get zero ohms...kaput....if you've got any resistance at the pump look at the fuse~ easier to replace a fuse, but I hardly think the pump would blow the fuse~

Since this is a brand new vehicle have it towed to your local Chevrolet Dealer. It's still under warranty. They'll pay for the tow and, if need be, provide a loaner car. Just don't tell them about the low fuel light coming on. If the fuel pump did burn out the Chevy Dealer may try to use that information to weasel out of warranty coverage. I've run out of gas twice with cars that had electric fuel pumps. Didn't hurt anything. It does happen though. So keep that to yourself. HTH. -Jim

...wow...had never thought of that....haven't been in a financially strong league that would buy a NEW car...GOOD ONE.~...this WILL work!...dealerships do not like black marks on their reputations~
