Will a 1970's 318 bolt into my 2001 dodge
dakota

It would bolt in but to make it run would be a major chore due to the electronics on the 2001 year. Also if you were to get it to run, if you live in a state where there are emissions test, your vehicle would not pass.

From a purely hypothetical standpoint you can do this, would involve running an aftermarket pro-street or pro-touring wiring harness, but as pointed out above would prevent vehicle from passing an emissions test and not able to be registered in most states.

You want a 340 with a Holley 650 double pumper sitting on an Edelbrock aluminum intake. Complete with headers of your choice.
