Low oil pressure light after oil change

Asked by Dec 12, 2018 at 09:16 PM about the 2013 Ford Edge SEL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My low pressure oil light has come on after my recent oil
change. I switched from Motorcraft synthetic blend 5w-20
to Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-20. The oil level is fine. The light
only comes on at idle after the car has warmed up. As soon
as I hit the acceleration the light goes off. The engine runs
great with no loss of power.

You should go to a mechanic and have oil pressure tested. Hopefully, it's only the gauge or sending unit/circuit. Car seems too new to have a defect in the oil pump and/or pressure relief valve, or to be worn-out bearings.
