why did i have to replace an engine coolant valve when my 2013 escape only has 50000 miles on it
my 2013 ford escape with only 50000 miles experienced a problem with check engine light going on and off, sometimes with weeks in between. I took it to multiple dealers while it was still under warranty but they wouldn't do anything if the signal was off, which happened frequently because the signal would never stay on. At 50000 miles I just recently had to replace the engine coolant valve which was under recall for all vehicles assembled before 2/13/2013. Guess what, my vehicle was assembled on 2/23/2013....10 days later. Service was denied under the recall because the car was "just" beyond the build date. I can't help but be suspicious because why am I having the same problem that vehicles built just 10 days before mine were covered by a recall. Could it be that the Louisville factory was still using the bad parts because they weren't aware of the impending recall notice? Just 4 weeks earlier I had a major repair done because I kept getting the message "engine coolant low" . That dealership lead me to believe that they were doing the repair out of the goodness of their heart but I later found out that they were paid for it because it must have been covered under the powertrain warranty. What is going on with these cars?
All cars have issues weather it's foreign or domestic, today have so many sensors and they do just one thing that is to protect the engine. Good bad or indifferen these are how csrs are made today, and cars are going to get more sophisticated as time goes on.
Keep it simple, buy an old classic...
If that is the only problem you have had with the car then count your blessings.
I do understand that new cars come with advanced technology that alerts the owner when there is a problem. I am thankful for that; however, my issue with the latest problem is that I feel like I might have fallen through the cracks. Service under the recall notice was denied because my car was built just 10 after the end date on the recall notice that addressed the very problem that my car experienced. If the correction was actually made to cars built after the end of the recall notice, why would I be experiencing the same exact problem than the earlier vehicles experienced. It tells me that the factory may have installed the same faulty part, perhaps, because of a communication problem with the assembly line, or some other issue that may have allowed an old part to be installed. I do not know how strict the factories are about stopping production lines when a recall problem is identified. 10 days after the recall notice ended and my vehicle having the same exact problem leaves me to be suspicious of lack of quality control. I don't know but I do know that the 2013 Ford Escape has had numerous recalls. Bad thing is that I am 75 years old and this was the first new vehicle I have ever owned. I purchased 5 other Fords that were used and had low miles.....never had a problem until I bought the Escape.
