We have a dodge intrepid & my husband thinks its idling faster then it should?

My husband thinks the car is idling faster then it
used to & the check engine light is on & the
mileage thing is off?

You will need to pull the trouble code causing the engine light to go on first and work from there. Local parts stores can do it for free.

Sounds like your system is compensating for a problem. Check for vacuum leaks or lose connections. Run a OBDII scanner to get a code.
