Can you reply with a part number or more specific description of instrument cluster you replaced?

Asked by Bosco_16 Dec 30, 2016 at 07:15 AM about the 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 grand caravan sport. Van appears to be "possessed". Headlights flash,
horn honks, wipers operate without being turned on, clicking from dash,
transmission disengages for a couple of seconds, tach races, no error codes.
4 months ago P0715, replaced ISS, CSS sensors and connectors to tran.
Now installed new alternator. I find significant reports of similar problems but
no solution. One said replaced instrument cluster for $99 resolved problem,
but I believe that description is too general. A part number would be more
helpful. HELP!

Sounds more like your ECM (Main Computer) is your issue, you can try to reflash it, but it may not work...

New battery 3 months ago. Never have had any starting problems, other than when battery was replaced.

Yes, yes, I have heard of this before- you will need the Automotive Exorcist- usually called "The Mechanic"

I've been to 2 and they can't determine the problem. I am about to give up. I'll NEVER purchase another Cbrysler product.
