2002 Dodge Grand Caravan TURNS OVER NO START

Asked by Monica Jul 14, 2019 at 09:50 PM about the 2002 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drove my van to the advanced auto store and had
some fuses checked. Upon attempting to leave the
store my van started and was running very rough
for few seconds and died out. I again attempted to
start my van to leave the store and this time it’s still
turning over perfect but will not start. As of today
The van is turning over perfect but it will not start. I
have checked the fuses and relays and they
appear to be in working order at this point. I
recently bought the van so I am clueless as to
some of the issues previous to my possession of
the van. With that being said I noticed three wires
coming from the main wiring harness a red, green
and a white one that are not connected to
anything. As I am the new owner of the van I don’t
even know if the wires were previously connected
to anything will it was starting ok or not. Can
anybody help me with my issue?

First of all whenever dealing with wires in a group the white is always ground. You did drive it so we know it is drivable. Fuses and relays is still going to be my focal point. If it appears to be fine I would change it anyway. A fuel relay can get old and eventual quit working. The prior owner knew this and didn't advertise it. It's just a few dollars at part store. I would pursue that first.

Thank you for your reply! We did use one of the spare fuel relays to see if that was the problem but it still would not start. Also, last night I was outside and heard a noise coming from the van and I looked and the windshield wipers were slightly moving attempting to come on with the van off like no key even in ignition. Do you have any idea as to why it would or could do this?
