03 dodge stratus keeps overheating

Ok.. I've been having this car for a while now. How
it wants to keep overheating when I stop for a long
time in traffic and red light. I have taken it to
mechanic and they fix radiator, replaced radiator
cap,  also sensor and it still overheating. They
checled5the fan it turns on, but shuts off so don't
know if this is causing it. So when i noticed the car
tempt arrow going up i put the car in N or
accelerate and temp goes back down. What can it
be? Please help tired of car wanting to
overhoverheat.

Perhaps it is time to replace the water pump. Did your mechanic flush the engine and radiator?
