Your car needs to run at a certain temperature to be efficient, you just can't pull the entire thermostat and expect it to be normal. Who suggested that you do that?

What do you mean by a little warm?

Computer controlled vehicles not only require the engine to run at a certain temperature (usually 195°F) but they must meet that minimum operating temperature within a certain time period after a cold start up. Usually within 10 minutes or so. So as mark said, removing the thermostat is NOT the way to go here. It's possible the old thermostat was sticking and making the engine run slightly hotter than it should. So install a new 195°F thermostat and you should be all set. HTH. -Jim
