My 2003 neon Wont go out of 2nd

My car won't shift after 2nd gear. Then while I'm
sitting at a light it acts like its gone take off. I have
to cut it off to keep from ramming someone in the
rear. HELP

If this is standard trans , you might have a clutch issue or your slave cylinder may have air in it or low on fluid
