nice looking car. I would start by checking that theres nothing stuck in there keeping it from sliding forward. if not that check the shift linkage and make sure it's not cought on something or anything

These transmission have a very unsatable linkage under the console. Adjustment is fairly easy though, until the linkage finally stretched too far and breaks. You should probably get a copy of the Haynes car. Parts stores and book stores have them or can get them. I've had to adjust my daughter's, once, for the same problem.

Wow! I couldn't have goofed up the spelling worse could I? Sadly, this forum has no spell check or edit function. Sorry folks. Try this: These transmissions have a very unstable linkage under the console. Adjustment is fairly easy though, until the linkage finally stretches too far and breaks. You should probably get a copy of the Haynes repair manual for the Intrepid and similar Chrysler models. Parts stores and bookstores have them or can get them. Adjustment is described well in there. I've had to adjust my daughter's, once, for the same problem.
