2012 equinox system failure

It could be one of a couple things. The ignition could be bad but seems how you cant put it in park I would guess the Park/Neutral solenoid. Start by using the manual shift release (Copy and paste the link in my second post to watch a video that shows how to release) Once your car is back in park, try removing the key. That should tell you where the problem is. If you can remove your key, it's likely the solenoid. You can temporarily use the manual release to shift between drive and park. It is possible the key remains stuck even once you've shifted into park. Just start by getting it into park and try starting it. Last, It could be the gear shift release. If the gear shifter is a problem, you should be able to press and release it enough times to eventually engage and allow you to shift/release your key.
