I got a 2004 ford explorer xlt and for the past
couple days since I drove it I have noticed when it
is turned on I hear a noise coming from rear driver
side . I haven't had time to take it in to a mechanic
because I work almost all the time during the week
. It sounds like a compressor noise or a spray
noise coming from a air can or something but it
will stop once the truck is off does anyone have
any idea what this and  is it really serous

Any strange noises you start hearing should ALWAYS be checked out. You don't want to be stranded somewhere and then asking why didn't I look into it earlier? Start thinking of your car as your "airplane" and you won't get disabled.

If you think that you don't have the time to bring this in, think how it will be if it breaks down on the way to work or worse on some trip out of town! It could be something innocuous or not, but, drop off your car and get a rental or a friend to give you a ride from the shop. My mechanic will actually take me home whenever he works on my car, if you arrange that in advance.
