1986 Ram 150 318. Runs great for a while, dies. Let it sit for a few minutes and
it starts and goes for a while and dies..

Well, this is going out on a limb. But IIRC back in the day Chrysler just used MAP sensors. I had a K-car that did exactly this. I disconnected the MAP sensor and it ran (like crap) but it ran. The fix was a new map sensor, but a short term fix was just to run a hairdryer on it. FWIW The 318 is one of my favorite motors. I put 250 thousand miles on one and it ran great.
