Snapping and popping sounds in engine area and car dies when slanted going down small hill

Hi car gurus ,I have some popping and snapping coming
from the engine area of my 04 dodge stratus r t 2.7 and
my car has been stalling going down a slight slanted hills
so you know what causes this I have no engine lights on
please help?

That noise might be a leaking or loose spark plug wire shorting out and arcing.
