My engine fan stopped working. Can I run a wire from battery to test without damaging

Actually you can trace wires from fan motors to main fuse and the relays for fan 1 and fan2 in the fuse / relay box under hood find the wires to the relays and jump the power slot to the fan wire to check fan or disconnect connector to fan an insert paper clips to plug pins an check motors Possibly have a bad temp sensor relay or fuse for relay
