Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is jerking really bad when I push the gas down.  When I get on the highway; when I push the gas up to 70 mph; it starts jerking; I then let the speed go down and it will keep jerking when I push the gas down; until I get the speed to 60 mph and then when the speed starts going back up; when it reaches 70; it starts jerking again.  When I go somewhere and come out my car cranks and will not start; and then I get it jumped and after cranking it and cranking it; then it starts.  Would you please give me any ideas about these issues?

Im assuming by jerking you mean it feels like your hitting your brakes real hard for a split secound. And its kinda scary... Deffinetly ignition. Intrepids are known for faulty cam sensors. They use these in corolation with crank position sensor to determine spark advance. Luckily its a cheap part ( 50$ ) and easy to replace. Good luck
