Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 dodge durango that has been losing all electrical power while
driving.  The engine stops running and all the lights go off.  The engine will start
again after this happens.  Check engine light is on and flashing.

How old is the battery? Anything over 3 years is to old. If battery is OK do this turn on all the loads, headlights, heater blower on high then start the engine and rev it a few times then shut it off and carefully feel the alternator pulley if it's super hot replace the tensioner and belt. If it's OK you'll need to hook it to a voltmeter to check the alternator load capacity. I hope this helps
