Ac pro with the heat on

Asked by Jul 20, 2019 at 07:57 PM about the 2004 Dodge Durango Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I added ac pro to my 2004 Dodge Durango when I
got off work because the ac stopped working but I
turned the heat to max instead of the ac to max
like it said to do. Will that damage my car or affect
anything. Thank you in advance

Not at all. You're fine. One has nothing to do with the other. Selecting heat instead of air conditioning just puts the temperature door under the dash in a different position. While in heat mode outside air passes through the air conditioning cooling coil first then the heater core on it's way to the passenger's compartment. When you select air conditioning the temperature door under the dash moves to a different position and the heater core is bypassed. Hope that helps! Jim
