Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a used Avenger in the
summer for my son air works great
now that it's cold it only blows cold
air. My car guy has replaced both
thermostats and flushed the system a
200 dollar job. He drove the car it
blowed hot air then back to Luke
warm. So he repeated the flush and
tried again same results and after 3
days the car is still at his shop
looking for any ideas to give him to
try. Never had this problem with any
car I'm stumped. I'm thinking we
need to just keep flushing until its
fine. Fan runs great and it does get
hot for a little bit then back to Luke
warm. No over heating issues at all
crazy. Any suggestions on something
to use to flush that would do a more
efficient clean without hurting the car.
I've read up on other heating issues
but ours seems to be a bit different.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks and yes I've heard the tapping are light thumping knock when we first start the car makes so much sense now. The fluid is fine it has to be the actuator. Thanks again

Dodge didn't remove the casting sand completely from many engines put into '12 Avengers. This fine material blocks the heater core. If Owner chooses not to replace it. Back flush core several times. Power flush the engine a few times. Then replace the thermostat. Typically it's the heater core & not the blender door or linkage assembly. Best advise I can provide.
