Limp Mode Issue

Hey I have a 2004 Ford explorer limited edition with
the 4.6L V8 in it and I am dealing with it going into
limp mode without knowing the exact cause
apparently. It went into limp mode without warning
and after numerous attempts at a diagnosis, I
recently found someone who was convinced they
could solve my problem, but to no avail. He ran a
full diagnostic scan of all subsystems (with car off
and driving test) and came to the conclusion that
the front left ABS speed sensor was not working.
The left wheel had no reading as the right side did.
    I went on to buy the wheel hub assembly which
had sensor built into it. After replacing the hub and
everything I reset all the codes and took for a test
drive and the engine FailSafe Mode engaged once
again.
   At this point I am lost . Anyone have any
suggestions?

ABS will not put you in a limp mode.poor engine or transmission performance will.Need to keep going with diagnostics. there had to be other codes.

cjsras I have a 05 ford explorer 4.6 V8 also in limp mode and also a problem that happened about the same time was my ignition don't turn over the car at all but when I bump start the starter it starts right up also reads no codes under diagnostics
