valves

Asked by kandykain Feb 06, 2016 at 10:18 PM about the 2004 Dodge Dakota SXT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2004 2wd dodge Dakota and the
valves in the head don't work. But I also had a 2001
4wd dodge Dakota that I wrecked, but the motor
and everything still work. Will the valves from my
4wd Dakota fit my 2wd one?

If the the engines are the same then the parts will probably interchange.

You don't mention miles on this vehicle. If valves are not working it would be a timing chain or sprocket. Worse case would be a broken cam. The chain and sprocket is what drives the cam that makes the valves work.
