Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just purchased a dodge stratus recently..it will not
start. Everything comes on radio,lights,etc..when I
turn it over it's like it's not getting any spark if that
makes sense at all..Any ideas on what might be
wrong?? Thank you

Check all relays. I replaced all mine because they are fairly inexpensive. Also make sure your ignition switch fuses are not broken as well. The basic check. Does the car crank at all? If the car cranks but won't start, then I would check fuel pressure and make sure the fuel pump is okay. Hopefully this gets you on the right track.

I replaced my battery and a forum said to reset the computer. YouTube how to do this. You disconnect the positive on the battery (pain in butt) and then ground it for ten seconds Or you can try skipping that. Since I went ahead and changed the battery it wasn’t hard to do. So.... Remove the fuse panel under the hood. On the 2004 dodge stratus sxt DOHC 16 valve 2.4 liter there are 3 square fuses. Have someone else start the car repeatedly while you keep your fingers on them. If there’s a snap coming from the inside on one of them it’s bad. Mine was the square relay closest to the center of the engine. Take it with you to autizinenor wherver for a new one. About $9. Mine cranked and wanted to start. I replaced this relay and it started. Then if you turn the key off and on quickly WITHOUT STARTING and leave it on the 3rd time, after a few seconds it will possibly give you a code or codes then says done. Mine was 3040 I think which was the cam sensor So I’m On my way to buy one. Good luck! Also I read you can try removing these sensors one at a time to see if it starts. 1. Cam sensor Try to start No luck? Remove the exhaust sensor. No luck? Remove map sensor. No luck? Replace relay and start over.
