After my 2000 jeep cherokee sport overheated,it wont turn over

It does have a cracked head? Is that a question or a statement. Sounds like over heating seized your motor. Remove the spark plugs. Squirt some oil in the cylinders and try the starter motor.

You know I've never considered the notion of just buyin a head from pickNpull~ that would be Terrific! if it were that easy, but to overheat, steel gets soft, piston pins get loose, the whole thing is a bit of an atrocity...my ole' 61 caddy would not still drivin' if not for bein pulled from the grave from an overheat....sounded wonky to beat the band...depends on how long it stayed hot....definately a cracked head, what'd you turn the hose on it to cool it off?
99 to 01 cherokee's with the 4.0 had a different style head on them then the older ones. they were prone to cracking when overheated.
