2000 Jeep Cherokee

I need help ASAP. My Cherokee won’t start. I think the
motor is locked but just wanna make sure. It has new
spark plug there not messed up or anything. The starter
works to. When I turn the key all the way it makes a click
noise and everything shuts off. I need help please and
thank you.

This might sound crazy an do not quote me on it but the same thing happened to me with my Cherokee,,,,I hooked cables to it an let it charge After doing so i turned the key while in park an nothing just the click your explaining at which point I shifted into Neutral pulled the E-brake turned the key an my mind was blown it started right up,,,Wouldn't hurt to try that it worked for me.If this is the case then it could be your Neutral Safety Switch
