Small amount of coolant by cap, replaced still leaks

Asked by Laree Aug 05, 2016 at 11:50 AM about the 2005 Dodge Neon SE Sedan FWD

Question type: General

I drove 20 miles parked and heard a boiling sound coming from engine.
Lifted the hood and there was a small amount of coolant that looked like it
was coming from radiator cap. My daughter's boyfriend added cooland said
it was low, checked cap and it did need replacement. I did that drove it
again for 20 miles yesterday and though there was no boiling sound when I
stopped, I checked under hood and again small amount of coolant by cap.
Not sure what to check next. Internet search came up with expansion tank?
maybe I should just take it in? There is no leak when car is just sitting
there.

The cap is not actually on the radiator. There's tubing that goes to cap. I took a picture, you can see the green, that is coolant resting in a groove that dripped there. At first look I thought maybe that is where it is coming from but wiped it off and don't see any cracks.

I see where it's leaking now, from the very top of where the hose connects to cap.
