Overheating

Asked by Roseforpresident Jun 30, 2019 at 06:48 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Venture LS

Question type: General

I have a 2004 Chevrolet Venture. Recently, I made a long trip into Phoenix, AZ
and back. While there my van overheated all the way into the red. The
mechanic found that we had the harmonic balancer and replaced it. Ever
since then, I have had to continuously add about an eighth of a gallon of
coolant each day before going to work. I have looked all over for a sign of a
leak but do not see one. Any ideas?

Possible internal leak, have the coolant checked for C02 content. gas analyzer or basic chemical strip test.

Have a pressure test done on the cooling system? This could help find the leak. Have you checked the oil or exhaust for signs of water?
