One thing to be very aware of is that the rear hatch is very heavy (over a hundred pounds), so keep that in mind. Before you take the hatch loose, you'll have to take the 2 lift struts off, they are pretty easy to remove. Once that is complete, you'll want to trigger the latches on the gate so they don't grab when you close the gate. Then close the gate. The bolts for the 2 hinge plates are behind the headliner; so you have to take the rear of the headliner loose by removing the side trim panels then drop the headliner down (you don't have to take it all the way out) while you're in this area, look for the plug for the wiring and disconnect it; you'll be able to push the grommet out from underneath also. Once the bolts are undone, wiring disconnected you can remove the hatch. Putting it back together is just a reversal of the steps. Good luck and be safe.
