Truck suddenly won't accelerate.

Asked by Sep 17, 2019 at 01:32 PM about the 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So, the truck was working fine last night but on my
way home i noticed a vibration in the break petal.
Thats when the truck made a thumping feel and
jerked forward. A couple seconds later the check
engine light came on. When i came to a complete
stop I felt the truck did not automatically begin to
roll when I lifted my foot from the break petal.
There hasn't been anymore jerking or thumping and
the break petal hasnt vibrated at all. But the
acceleration is still bad.

The trans fluid is pink, the oil and break fluid were
changed about a month ago along with the spark
plugs.

Also, not sure if this is relevant but still, back in
march the e break got stuck while in some really
slow traffic on the highway. By time I got it towed
to the dealership the break had cooled off enough
that it wasnt stuck anymore. So the dealership
didn't find anything.

I just want to figure out why the truck all of a
sudden isnt accelerating properly.
