My van died while driving home and when it died the oil
light came on.

The oil light coming on after the engine stops would be normal but if the oil light came on first and then the engine died then you may have seized the engine.

It went off after it died. Checked the oil, it was ok Then turned it back on and it was running ok, so I went and put gas in it because it was low and got home ok

Change the fuel and air filters while you are at it and use a good fuel system cleaner like Seafoam or Techron.

Thanks. Someone else suggested the Seafoam too. Will update tomorrow. I appreciate it
