Sounds like air is in the cooling system to bleed air fill antifreeze reservoir with antifreeze to the full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle once vehicle starts to reach operating temp the thermostat will start to open and antifreeze level in reservoir will drop when this happens add more antifreeze back to full mark then put cap back on. If air was the problem that should take care of it

Replacing a "freeze plug" may stop it from leaking, but they don't have much else to do with the cooling system. They are simply to plug the holes left over from the casting process. What you still need to do is diagnose what is wrong with the cooling system - can be anything from the water pump, thermostat, radiator, radiator cap, leaking hoses, even a blown head gasket. Have the mechanic go through the system again - and do NOT let the engine overheat.

Well putting anti-freeze in it last fall must have been to much work now you probably have other freeze plugs leaking , warped heads , or a cracked engine block Penny Wise Pound Foolish

@olds403 your probably right it was too much work to put antifreeze in last fall considering I didn’t even have the Van then.. but thanks for your input
