Keeping the front door locked - 2010 Dodge Journey

Asked by Journey_view Apr 20, 2016 at 02:33 PM about the 2010 Dodge Journey Crew FWD

Question type: General

Looking for a way to keep the front passenger from opening a LOCKED front passenger door in my parents 2010 Journey. My father has Dementia and gets confused and sometimes reaches for the door handle when the vehicle is in motion. Thanks in advance for the help!

They do make most models with a child safety lock for the rear doors, including Dodge Journeys. Maybe have him sit in the back? I don't think any model exists with front door child safety locks. You can remove the lock rod connecting the inside door handle to the lock mechanism, however that would mean the only way to open the door is from the outside (this is what most cop cars do).

I thought you could lock the front side passenger door from the drivers door on Journeys.
