How do I know if my Dodge Durango has 4wd??

Asked by Brian Oct 24, 2014 at 01:09 PM about the 2006 Dodge Durango SLT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Durango that says it is an SLT on the back, but it has a 3.7L engine, and
nothing that says 4WD... the salesman told my wife it has AWD that will kick in when
needed, but how can I be sure??

One way to tell, for sure, it that the Durango 2006 is a longitudal engine/drive train. Other words not 'sideways', with serpentine belt in front, so it should have a driveshaft to the front end if it AWD or 4WD
