Electronic handbrake

Accidentally some water went to the handbrake and did block the rare tires.
To release them the owner did cut the wires and released the wheels
manually. Now after replacing the handbrake and connecting the wires the
brake beeps all the time and the signal remains in the control board.

is it necessary to replace the electric engine of the brake to fix the problem or it can be fixed without replacin git?
