We have a keyless ignition and the anti theft device light is blinking after the car is shutdown. It drained the battery overnight.

The car battery was dead this AM. After charging, I noticed the anti theft device light was
blinking and continued to do so. It is my wife's car and she does not know how long this
condition existed or if the light always blinked.

It is all explained on Page 130 of your owners manual. If you don't have the manual you can download it at the site I will post on the end here. It says with the ignition off, the indicator light will flash once every two seconds to indicate the system is armed and acting as a theft deterrent.The system is disarmed immediately when ignition is turned on, the light will illuminate for three seconds then go out. ---- http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/ford/ford-taurus-owners-manuals

The blinking light did NOT drain your battery. The light and anti-theft system draws 0.02 amps and your battery will last for weeks to months. But if you are leaving a Navigation or something like that on, it will

Hello, I have a 2006 Ford taurus SEL 3.0. Thew check charging system indicator comes on. The red battery light comes on after about 15 seconds after startup. If the battery is strong it does not come on but after a few starts the battery weakens and the light and warning come on. I have replaced the battery connections and the Mega fuse.Checked fuse #26.It is good and the auto parts store says the alternator is pumping out 14 volts. I'm stumped 9 Answers
