2012 chevy cruze no remote key detected

Asked by LaTanya May 25, 2020 at 05:03 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze 2LT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a "remote not detected" message, so i have to insert the key fob in the
middle console, can I continue to drive the car like this or do I have to have it
fixed in the near future

If you can get into the car, you can keep driving it like this, but the problem is just likely a dead fob battery. At this point, when you replace the battery, you'll have to reprogram the car to the fob, but that's pretty easy. If the battery is OK, it's probably a defective fob.
