Thank you tennisshoes this solution worked perfectly for my 2014 Cruze. Pretty sure I pushed the start button and tried to put it into gear to fast and ticked it off. Has never happened before in 4 years. Might take it past the dealer to have them take a look though just in case. Thanks again.

my 2014 isn’t starting, bought new battery, alternator, and starter. it still isn’t starting. the only way to get it started is jumping it using another car or just another battery it self. but now the anti theft light is on and won’t go off. i’m still currently jumping my car to get it running. any ideas?

Sounds like this Chevy is like so many others I have inquired about...the Saturn Ion 2 and Spark come to mind....total pieces of crap electrically and unpredictable or reliable under ANY circumstances ....Chevy should be shut down until EVERY SINGLE ISSUE is resolved in the PLANT....not in the freaking driveway much less on the highway .....as a DAV....(NOT SEEKING FAVORITISM or SYMPATHY) All you have done is great a consumer problem and avoid responsibility for any and ALL issues until a 6 figure massive hell raising incident of similar issues occur ......AXEL'S BREAKING?!?! IGNITION MALFUNCTIONS?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME ON AT LEAST 3 MODELS?!?! GET BACK TO BASICS....ENGINEERING....YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS DEALING IN A MASSIVE BLUNDER OF ELECTRONICS.....GO BACK TO THE TRIED AND TRUE CHEVETTE ......UNDER 4 GRAND AND NEVER DIED.....!

I had this problem with my '12 Cruze LTZ. I read and did just about everything except pull the battery. Pulling your battery is the last resort and probably wont help much except getting yourself dirty. What I did was unlocked all my doors, I read that there is a sensor at the bottom of the glovebox, so i cleared everything out of my glovebox and let it sit for seconds, wasnt sure how long its suppose to sit in there or if it would even work. I got out and opened and closed all the doors. I got in the drivers seat and with the push start i simply clicked it off and on without my foot on the brake and the message came on the dash, push brake into start. Hell yes! Not sure what I did but it seemed to work for me. What i think happened was originally i pushed the botton and released the brake to quickly, probably confused the system

All I did was change my battery in my key fob and opened all my doors then closed them. Once I did that I hit the lock switch to lock all the doors except the driver door then I manually locked the driver door with the key. I then unlocked the door with the fob and it did not work. So I unlocked the door with they key and got in. Once that worked I stated the car and IT WORKED NO ISSUES.

I have a 2015. I left the key in the ignition about 3-5 min, then locked all doors, waited a sec, turned the key to start & cranked up. (Used to have a Malibu, only way to get theft off was to leave key in on position for 15 min).

Story time... The buttons on my key fob fell off(both main key and spare). I didn't want to spend over $100 at my dealer so I bought a key fob on Amazon. I had to rip apart my spare key because it just would not come apart. I finally got the key fob put together, all i needed to do was get it cut and program it myself. The next day, as we were running errands, my significant other broke the unlock button with the house key, because his pinky didn't fit in the hole. We started to unlock the door with the key, the alarm automatically sets off for some reason?? Later that same day he goes to unlock the door with the key and this message pops up. I keep reading that the unlock button deactivates the alarm. Problem is I now have NO UNLOCK BUTTON. I also now do not have a spare! How much is this going to cost me?
