Getting oil pan back on with the oil pump on as well...???

I'm trying to oil pan back on after bearings n bent
rod was replaced. I can not get it on with the oil
thing that draws oil out the pan in the block I know
there is a trick to it can someone please help me. I
wasn't the one who took it out. I'm sty k putting it
back in for my brother.
