2012 Chevy Traverse Battery Savings Mode

My 2012 Chevy Traverse had a new alternator and battery put in the first
week of December.  Since then, the battery voltage drops as low as it can
go on the meter.  We then get an error message of battery savings mode (or
something like that).  Then the vehicle slowly turns off all systems, starting
with the heat.  Our mechanic has tried multiple things and gets no codes
when running tests.  Battery and alternator check out fine.  Any
suggestions?  The car has about 117K miles on it.

I had the same issue on my 2011. Replaced the alternator with an aftermarket part and that’s when the issues started. After taking it into the dealership multiple times they finally figured out that it was due to the new aftermarket alternator. They replaced it with an original gm part number alternator and that Fixed it. The aftermarket alternators do not put out the exact voltage required and it causes the car to do all sorts of wierd things.
