I have replaced both the battery and alternator recently. I am getting the service battery charging system code as well as battery saving active. This is a 2009. Did you have any further trouble with that? The alternator is less than a month old.

Amanda, depending on quality of the alternator and new vs used, they will fail. I had a client replaced their's 3 times within 3 months, alternator kept coming apart due to poor quality til he bought a new one from autozone. Take in to ur local autoparts and they can check it on or off the vehicle

Super helpful. I was in DC on a road trip and had a this happen. The car died on 1/22 and Pepboys gave me a "new" alternator and a new battery despite the fact that I had a new battery in November. I had NO idea but when I showed my husband the receipt when I got home, the receipt said reconditioned alternator which infuriated me since that was not disclosed before it was done. That's about 4 weeks ago. Fingers crossed Pepboys will stand by their work. Also, any thoughts that all the chargers for iPads and phones might tax the system? I was a 24 hour road trip with multiple devices charging. THANK YOU for your input. This car has been a nightmare but I refuse to sell it for something new get have to have a payment!!!

I'm sure pepboys will and about the chargers, no they consume such a small amount of current that won't affect anything. Good luck!

I have a 2013 Chevy Traverse and I have replaced the Battery and the Alternator. I am still getting this error and SUV will go into Power Service mode , after driving it a while it will bump to 14 and over and it will go off. I do not like living in the south and the power saving mode cuts the AC off. I keep seeing comments on this does anyone have any idea what is causing this. Have it tested and everything is showing a t full capacity. I am super annoyed with it.
