2008 Escale - not starting

I have a 2008 ESV Escalade.  I tried to start it today and it wouldn't turn over.  
The key unlocks the doors, the radio power ups, the dash lights all work but
when I turn the key, it just clicks.  Everything seems to be working except the
engine  won't engage.  Help!
