Whats the best upgrade engine and tranny to put into a 2000 subaru impreza outback
sport? and can i put a v8 block or hybrid in if i replace the tranny?

You can but you will have a lot of research to do for a v8. You wont be likely to find any of the info on a Subaru forum but they have been done before. Regardless, swapping anything other than what the car came with into it will require a lot of work so do your basic research before you decide on the motor swap, then make sure you do some in depth research about the particular swap you choose.

Yes, they hybrids use a combination of 3 different subaru engines assembled into one. You can make good power but they aren't terribly reliable.
