Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Reason for work: knocking on the right
side top end facing the motor.

what I did: I took off the valve cover on the
right side and noticed there was some big
thin metal shavings by the rocker arms.
but initially I thought the rockers were bad
until i saw the shavings so I removed the
rockers just on that side then I removed
the belt covers and belts but not the
timing belt. I used a harmonic balancer to
pull off the crank pulley then I realized I
forgot to check to see if the timing was on
and this is what i found.

*so starting with the TDC mark which is
aligned I noticed that both the camshaft
marks were both pointed towards the oil
pan / bottom of the motor so obviously
the timing is off.

* I also noticed that on the camshaft
where the lobes are there is extensive
ware on two of the lobes one is on the toe
end and the other is on the heal end but
the others have normal ware.

So what my question is how do I fix all
this, and where do I start first?

I don't what is causing the severe wear you have found. It could be an oiling issue or something else. At the very least you will need a new cam and a rebuilt head.

Pistons look fine. Both cams have som gashes n scrapes on the lobes and shaft itself. So idk if i can re-use the cam that has small gashes on the shaft and not the lobe? Or if i have to replace the part which is about 375 for one shaft new :( the rockers i am un sure about seting / cleaning also the numbers on the rocker arms i have B series on one head and SS on the other? So example i got a B8 and a B24 intake and Exhaust i have a B34? Just for one set. So do these have a meaning and if i replace them does it have to be the same as in B's or can i use SS's off the spare motor i have?

Any damage to the wearing parts (bearing surfaces or cam lobes) means that you need to replace the cams. Same goes for rockers and other parts. If they can't be re-machined to a pristine surface then you must replace them if you want the engine to last.

Figured..... but for the rockers should i replace the whole component or just the bad rockers. And if just the bad rockers are they interchangeable besides the intake and exhaust that is but what i mean is can i use rockers from the opposite head?
