having a whole lot of trouble connecting the dots here...am guessing the battery is a goner because a battery that is older than 5 years old is gonna cause you problems....with the alternator...with all the electrical components....recommend that you undo the 1/0 black battery cable that attaches to the chassis/ground and wirebrush it clean so that 300 amps can easily get through~

The ignition key itself will not turn forward.

Have you tried turning the steering wheel while moving the key? Maybe the steering is locked.

that's why I'm thinkin that it needs good power to enable...the interlocks have shut "the key" solenoid off~ just needs good power~will check the forums on this problem~

okay...here's one solution~~Hold foot on brake , put key in ignition, then with the other hand turn the steering wheel left and then right, right quick and it should start.
