Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Developed a problem with the drivers door lock. At times, it wont allow me to pull with interior handle (when locked) as it feels like a rod is being put under tension (flexing) And each time the auto lock feature is activated by hitting 15 mph, I get a loud noise that surprises the crud out of me. Guessing there is a solenoid that is going bad... any one out there have the skinny on this?

You need a new door lock actuator. Not sure on the total cost, but the part is about $100. You will probably only be able to get it from the dealer or a junk yard. I don't think they are made by an aftermarket company.

You probably just have some linkage that is binding under the door panel. You will have to remove door panel. Then operate door locks to visually find problems. Not likely a problem with door solinoid. If you need help on how to remove panel repost and let me know.
