Accelerate car knocking low oil car died

Asked by Courtney Jul 18, 2018 at 10:31 AM about the 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was accelerating on to the highway, my
check engine light came on and my car died,
I was able to coast it to the shoulder of the
highway. Waited 10 minutes and started it
back up, drove it off the highway to a parking
lot before it died again. Checked the oil, I
was low but not empty, so I put 2 quarts of
oil in, changed my battery to a new battery
and now my car stalls when I go from Park
to drive or reverse.  No more check engine
light and/or codes reading.
